Wed, Oct 25, 2017: Club Meeting and Career Seminar
Join us at 6pm in Purnell 238 for our Fall Career Seminar! The topic is “Tips for Interviewing and Salary Negotiation”. If you’re seeking an internship or job anytime soon, this is a CANNOT miss event! Even if a job seems a long way off for you, these tips are good to keep in mind as you plan your future. A representative from Lerner Career Services will provide information and answer any questions you have. Insomnia Cookies will be provided, and we will be giving away a FREE Econ Club t-shirt! Meet fellow economics students in a relaxed, casual atmosphere.

Want to perfect your resume? Bring your resume to this workshop and get your questions answered by Career Services. 6-7pm in Lerner Hall 126.

Tues, Sept 19, 2017: JPM Panel Event
The JPMorgan Panel Event has become a successful annual tradition where JPM employees (including UD alumni) answer questions about their experiences. This is an opportunity to network with recruiters in a small setting, or just sit back and take in everything the panel has to offer… including an inside perspective on what it’s really like to work for JPM. Wed, Sept 13, 2017: Club Meeting
Join us for our first Fall Semester meeting from 5:30-6pm. We’ll have free pizza, tutoring sign-ups, and a short “Tips for Freshmen” presentation… if you’re a freshman, definitely attend! If you’re a sophomore, junior or senior, please stop by to help provide tips/advice for freshmen on “getting the most out of the Lerner College experience”. Also, don’t forget we’ll have our elections in December… if you might want to take on a leadership position, be sure to get your loyalty points by attending as many BHEC events as possible!

Tues, Sept 12, 2017: Networking Event with TTI
This will be a small, casual opportunity to meet with a TTI recruiter and network! One of BHEC’s previous officers now works for TTI and recommended the event! The company is looking for students interested in sales, marketing and management. Come out for a short meeting that could lead to your next internship or job! Bring your resume if you’d like feedback from the recruiter. 7pm in Purnell 227.

The Club Officers will represent BHEC at the Activities Fair. Come check us out!

Tues, May 9, 2017: Club Meeting
Join us for our last meeting of the Spring semester! The officers will present tips for how to survive Final Exam week. Additionally, awards will be given to our loyalty program winners and our best tutors for the semester! We will meet from 5-5:30pm (location TBA); pizza will be served!

Thurs, April 27, 2017: Annual Case Competition
Environmental Economics Case Competition at 7pm. BHEC, the Delaware Environmental Institute, and the UD Green Grants Program will co-host the 3rd Annual Case Competition. Student groups who were chosen as finalists will present their ideas to a panel of judges. Light desserts will be served.

Tues, April 18, 2017: JPMorgan Chase Find Your Fit Event
Freshmen and Sophomores are invited to join us for a networking opportunity with JPMorgan Chase from 4-6pm in the Perkins East Lounge. Learn about a variety of internship opportunities coming up soon. All majors are welcome. Business casual dress is recommended.

Wed, March 15, 2017: Handshake/LinkedIn Workshop
Lerner Career Services will provide a brief workshop on Handshake and LinkedIn from 6:45-7:15pm in Purnell 229. Ask questions and get tips on how to use these career-oriented platforms to help you reach your goals. After the workshop, you will also be able to sign up for this semester’s stock market game (or edit your stocks for those members who have already signed up).

Information sessions for the upcoming Environmental Case Competition at 5pm. In celebration of Earth Month, students are invited to research and present an environmentally-themed case study focused on reducing or eliminating a source of waste on campus. Winning individuals or teams will be awarded monetary prizes! See the Case Competition page for room #s and more information.

Wed, Oct 19, 2016: Special Event with Dr. William Poole
The Club will host Dr. William Poole (former President of the St. Louis Fed and Distinguished Scholar at UD) at 7pm. Dr. Poole is writing a book about political and government corruption in America, and he wants feedback from students. The book is meant for a general audience (i.e. it is not a textbook). This is a fantastic (and rare!) opportunity for students to work with a distinguished economist. Even if you don’t want to provide feedback, Dr. Poole’s presentation will be interesting and enlightening! Plus, Insomnia Cookies will be served!

Fri, May 6, 2016: New Hire Workshop
Do you have an internship or job lined up this summer or fall? Do you want some tips on how to make the most of it? BHEC is supporting a Lerner Career Services event from 12:30-1:30pm in the Career Services Workshop Room at 401 Academy St. The event will feature employers (Target, Aerotek and Vanguard) and address skills and tips for your first professional position. Interest Meeting. Officers will introduce themselves and provide information about the Club and upcoming events. A short, new video by the AEA will provide prospective majors with information about careers in economics (A Career in Economics).

Tues, May 19, 2015: Annual Case Competition
Environmental Economics Case Competition. The Club and the Delaware Environmental Institute will co-host the first annual Case Competition. Student groups who were chosen as finalists will present their ideas to a panel of judges. The first place prize is $150 and the second place prize is $100. The event will take place in KRB 205 at 2pm.

Club Meeting at 7pm in PRN 116. Dr. Young Park, faculty in the Economics Dept., will give a research presentation. Information will also be provided on the upcoming Environmental Case Competition for those who are interested in participating.
